Football
Girl’s football within Welbeck is becoming more popular throughout the years due to an increase in the amount of matches and cups we are entered into, most which have proven to be very successful.
It runs as a major sport in the winter term which includes training twice a week on Wednesday and Saturday afternoons with the college SMI, with further training sessions on evenings ran by the students.
Over the last 2 years we have played teams such as Nottingham High, Telford Community College, Beauchamp College, Wiggeston and Robert Smyth, all of which are improving in standard, which prompts us to develop our standards further.
Our proudest moment so far has been reaching the Semi-finals of the County Cup, with the rest of the matches still yet to be played so our achievements could continue further.
With the determination, enthusiasm and commitment shown from both the players and coaches, we hope to continue and improve on successes, to make girl’s football one of the more popular sports within college.
